Hello everyone! I'm super exited to share my entry for the Veiled Realms Environment Concept Art Challenge.
My project is titled "Gateway to the Desert", inspired by the rare phenomenon of snow falling on the dunes of Aïn Séfra, Algeria — a place often called the Gateway to the Sahara.
For this challange I picked several convept art pieces by Max Bedulenko and real world references of snow dunes covered in snow neae Ain Sefra.
The concept is built around contrast - warmth and cold, barren lands and people living in it. Ain Sefra sits at the intersection of mountains and Sahara desert where the combination of high elevation, microclimats created by mountain peaks and the desert sometimes allows for snowfals.
Mood board and references

I'll be primarily using Blender and 3D coat for asset creation and Unreal engine or\and Twinmotion for renderign as well as Photoshop for paintovers and final concept pieces creation.
Thank you for checking out my project and stay tuned:)
