Gasteropod Chess

Hello Everyone !

Here is my first Blog Post for the Veiled Realms Challenge. I am a student in technical art and 3D environment based in Paris ,

For this project I will using 3Ds Max , Zbrush , Substance Painter and Designer , Unreal 5.

My 3d prop will be a chess board ( pieces included ).

I decided to combine multiple references and inspirations to imagine a forgotten world based on the sea. Pieces will be distorted gasteropod shells. The board is gonna be mossy and rocky , affected by time.

Here is my current mood board in order to start my 3D conception.

To introduce my prop , may read those lines :

" Directed by theirs spiritual beliefs , women and men who lived there used to play a lot. This object was a part of a ceremony we don't know much about yet ... "
