Solo Dev Studio, Rarendipity Games, Takes on Leartes Studios' "Veiled Realms" Challenge I'm thrilled to announce my participation in this year's "Veiled Realms Art Challenge," featuring the inspiring concept art of freelance artist Max Bedulenko. Follow along as I embark on a journey to bring a remarkable lost world to life. My Old West interpretation of the "Veiled Realms" theme will invoke a haunting past, imagining a history that never was. Lost to time in a deep and dusty canyon rests the Silver Spoon Mine, a 1884 company town hidden in a forgotten corner of the Rocky Mountains.

A day at the "Silver Spoon" is a day without sunshine. Known to the miners as the "Silver Tomb," these deep, dark, and dank shafts reach halfway to hell. "The two things that come up out of that ground are silver ore and black lungs". The structures, dripping with character and rain, will be weathered and worn, bearing the marks of snow, rain, and bleaching sun. In addition to using Max's art, I'll incorporate a diverse set of influences: historical photos from the Old West, photos of ghost towns from the USA and Canada, silver mining structures, the Rocky Mountains, Mesa Verde National Park, and even the architecture of slums and favelas. I'm keeping dramatic "Practical" lighting in mind, constantly thinking about how this world will be filmed under different conditions: night, magic hour, gloomy mist, and summer sunshine.

Follow along as I apply Max's dystopian and ethnic cyberpunk styles to life in the Old West... Sound like fun? Learn more about the challenge at: https://cosmos.leartesstudios.com/challenges/veiled-realms-art-challenge See you around, Partner... #leartesstudios #learteschallenge
